The Taber Public Library Board and the Town of Taber were searching for a solution to meet their growing needs. The existing library had been constrained as their collection size and patron base had ballooned past what their current location would allow. It was determined that the best solution would be to create a new circumstance, one that would facilitate an active library for 20 years and possibly beyond. Initial costs, life cycle costs and long term value informed the desire for a humanistic design.
