Solo Exhibition for Conrad Ouchi
This body of work essentially translates as suspension in space, or weightlessness.
The suspension comes from the coverage of previous negative results transforming them into positive line in the paintings.
The differentiation may be likened to an electronic drawing program, such as “Freehand”. The undercurrents of the previous painting in the picture are the language that speaks through the images. These remaining bits of information reveal and evoke a mood, presence of substance, and a certain rich mosaic of glowing light. Consequently, the surface that covers the groundwork does not disguise the information beneath. The texture’s underpinning always remains structurally intact; it is only another strata of the final coat of paint.
The flat surfacing, melding with the abstracted information beneath, is the essence of my objectifiable projection.
