April Matisz is a visual artist currently residing in Lethbridge, Alberta. Her practice investigates themes related to landscape, environmental degradation, identity, and the relationships between art and science. Her artistic strategies involve replication, repetition, the collection and modification of select objects, and the employment scientific and museological conventions. She obtained a degree in Biology from the University of Victoria, and just completed her B.F.A. from the University of Lethbridge in May,2009.
Yan Luo is a visual and media artist living in Lethbridge, Alberta. His studio practice explores notions of place, identity, and language. Much of Luo’s studio work is informed by his experience as a Chinese citizen living in Canada. The translation of languages, ideologies, and values between these cultures is a predominant theme in his practice. Luo is currently pursing a B.F.A. from the University of Lethbridge.
Nicolas de Cosson is the Curator’s Assistant at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery and a practicing visual artist in Lethbridge, Alberta. In his studio practice, De Cosson combines textiles and electrical components to investigate ideas of connectiveness, communication, and distance. De Cosson just completed a B.F.A. from the University of Lethbridge in May, 2009.
