Prairie Visions
Prairie Visions
Carl Granzow (Sculptor), Ken Hicken (Composer), Martin Oordt (Poet), Chris Stoffel Overvoorde (Painter)
Prairie Visions, a collaborative fine art project features a variety of art forms by four established artists. Sculptor Carl Granzow produces a multi-dimensional visual expression of the prairie. Composer Ken Hicken, in a composition for wind quintet, musically evokes prairie moods. Poet Martin Oordt uses words, voices, stories; the sounds of the people of the prairie. And Chris Stoffel Overvoorde paints prairie space in oil on canvas.
This international art project started in 1993 when three of the artists began to consider the possibility of collectively expressing individual artistic concepts based on the theme of prairie. The fourth came on later to complete the set.
