Le Petit Trianon

The subject matter behind my work consists of different ideas that can be intertwined conceptually and formally. The subject matter is inspired by concepts of the mundane and the everyday that most people can relate to. Currently I use acrylics, canvas, textiles, garbage bags and found objects to make paintings. The materials used to make the paintings are selected due to their familiarity to the viewer, but not necessarily in the painting context. The process of the list making in the Post-It paintings are selected due to their familiarity to the viewer, but not necessarily in the painting context. The process of the list making in the Post-It paintings is familiar to the viewer since many people have daily habitual tendencies such as list making. However, the mundane, repetitive, boring text in the paintings presents questions to the history and context of contemporary painting through the experimentation of language and form.
